The Boleyn Tavern


The Boleyn Tavern is a Grade ll listed public house. It is located at the junction of Green Street and Barking Road in Newham. It was built in 1899–1900. In 1931 Mahatma Gandhi was in London for three months to discuss India's future and campaign for independence. The local tradition is that he visited the Boleyn Tavern at least once during his stay. He was enthusiastically received by locals.
