Queens Market


Queen's Market is a historic market on Green Street adjacent to Upton Park tube station. The market can be traced back to the Victorian era. It Is now mostly covered. The  Market traders and customers are ethnically diverse, and it has produce from all over the world on offer.

In November 2006, there was a campaign by local groups, including Friends of Queens Market, who opposed Newham Council's proposal to redevelop the existing market site. The campaign was successful. The proposed redevelopment was rejected by the then Mayor of London, Boris Johnson.
